Most of the people thinks that after some time windows become corrupt. But its not true windows can as fast as just after the installation,But you have to manage things for this.
these days most of the viruses do nothing but makes your computer slow by using processor and ram. some times your error messages come to your screen and computer become restart.
this all can be avoided by installing good Anti virus.
Avira is the free anti virus which do less consumption of memory and its absolutely free.
But its not always a virus which makes your computer slow it may be a software you install. Most of the software like yahoo or msn messenger automatically starts when you turn on your pc. this makes your pc to respond late at start-up .you can stop this from their setting.
Another thing to keep you computer fast is , don,t install many application for the same task or don't install those software for which you don,t have idea what are they about.
